The Brief
Midmer has been appointed to provide Country Architect Lead role, Project Management and Cost Management on the refurbishment of their flagship Covent Garden Store. A small but highly detailed refurbishment concept was created by their brand guardians and Midmer took the lead to design and deliver this store in a tight timescale.
The Delivery
Midmer took on this project as lead consultant and employed design services through a consultant to support with the application of the concept into this small but detailed store.
Covent Garden is grade 2 listed and therefore design approvals through The Covent Garden association and local authority was key to the success of the store. Midmer managed the full cost journey including tendering, cost management and reporting periodically to the client. The project deadline for opening was achieved maximising opening prior to the Christmas shopping period.
Achievements
The first store refurbishment completed for the Penhaligans brand in the year and a new client for Midmer to work with. A very challenging site but Midmer set up a robust supply chain and managed the clients international brand involvement well to achieve this difficult and small project. A fantastic design was well executed in the heart of London.
