Programme Management (PMO) of UK wide IT system roll out project

The Brief
We were appointed to provide PMO services and executive advisory support to the Royal Mail group to manage the delivery of a programme to roll out a new IT system across their UK estate.

The Delivery
The time attendance programme was very important to the operational improvement strategy for Royal Mail and had to be completed quickly with 500 installations required across 45 sites maintaining constant communication with all RMG departments.
Our role was to manage all property matters instructing and managing direct suppliers, contractors and consultants and working as part of the main programme team with constant communication across multiple RMG departments ensuring that the daily operations of Royal Mail were not disrupted at any point. A challeneging but successful project.


Achievements
The programme was delivered 5 weeks ahead of plan, saving 15% of the capex budget through procurement and synergy of the supply chain installations.
Midmer worked collaboratively with the RMG operational, IT, property, maintenance and finance teams creating new standards and programme reporting.
Through the completion of this successful programme, Midmer have built a trusted relationship with Royal Mail and have been asked to oversee more projects and programmes.
